Box Office Preview: After last week's neck-and-neck race between Glory Road and Hoodwinked, this weekend's box office will be dominated by one film only — Underworld: Evolution. The action sequel, starring Kate Beckinsale and her skin-tight rubber body suit, will draw young male fans in droves. In September 2003, Underworld premiered with $21.8 million; expect the sequel to easily surpass that, grossing $26 million in its first three days. This weekend, the biggest battle will be for second place. Last week's top two movies, Glory Road and Hoodwinked, will each slip to $8 million, while newly crowned Golden Globe king Brokeback Mountain finally crosses the 1,000-theater mark this weekend, which should also result in an $8 millon gross. And Queen Latifah's comedy Last Holiday should round out the top five with $7 million, leaving Terrence Malick's drama The New World, starring Colin Farrell, to place outside the top five in its first weekend of wide release, with a $5 million take.

Meet Spider-Man's new love interest: Big news for Spider-Fans: The Village's Bryce Dallas Howard has been cast as Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3. As fans know, Gwen is the Lana Lang to Mary Jane Watson's Lois Lane in Spidey mythology; in the books, she was Peter Parker's high school crush, who died on a bridge during a Spidey-Green Goblin battle. In the first Spider-Man, of course, Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane took on most of that storyline, though she survived the Green Goblin confrontation. While it's not clear how Gwen will be woven into the "Spider-Man 3" plot, we do know a couple things. (SPOILER ALERT!) First, she'll be a rival with Dunst's Mary Jane for Peter's affections, and second, she won't die at the end of the movie. So are you looking forward to seeing Gwen Stacy introduced to the film franchise? Do you think (as I do) that Howard is a good casting choice? Post your thoughts after the jump link.

First Look: 'Dreamgirls': Yeah, Beyoncé (center) is great and all, but what really excites me about DreamWorks' release of early backstage footage of Dreamgirls (shooting began last Monday) is the chance to see our girl, American Idol's Jennifer Hudson (right), in full costume and wig as Effie. (Rounding out the trio is Tony winner Anika Noni Rose, left.) Go to the movie's official website here, click on ''Video,'' and click ''Behind the Scenes'' to hear J. Hud and Beyoncé talk briefly about their roles, and catch a glimpse of Eddie Murphy in a full Little Richard pompadour. Priceless.

Wouldn't You Like To Be A Jolie-Pitt Too?: Angelina Jolie's two adopted kids can now legally add "Pitt" to their surnames after a California judge made it official yesterday. Almost two months after Brad Pitt started filing paperwork seeking to be the legal adoptive father of Maddox and Zahara, the actor has been given permission to play dad for real. At a speedy, 60-second hearing in Santa Monica yesterday lawyers representing Jolie were told that the petition to change her children's names from Jolie to Jolie-Pitt had officially been granted. The happy couple confirmed they are about to have a baby of their own last week when Jolie told an aid worker in the Dominican Republic that she is pregnant.
Until next time, Peace out!
